This painting was joint effort
by Colleen and Jerie in 2000 The theme is centered around the trail
that was built on the
old railroad bed between Deadwood and Edgemont.
It is one of the longest continuous trails in the USA
for hiking, bicycling, and horseback riding.
It was named in honor of our late Governor
George Mickelson, and is traveled by thousands of visitors each year. The painting is done with
a map in the background that highlights the trail
through Rochford in red. Because the trail from the Dumont Trailhead through Rochford and on to the Mystic Trailhead
is one of the most popular sections,
Colleen and Jerie named the piece DUFORDSTIC.
